New Product Development & Introduction

Connecting market opportunity to products organizations can build, launch, and grow.

I work at the intersection of customer and market opportunity, technical feasibility, and business viability. Across multiple industries, I have helped organizations connect what customers need, what the business can support, and what technical teams can build.

Where I create value

Closing the gaps between a promising idea and a successful product.

New product development and introduction are one connected system.

NPD determines whether the organization is creating the right product. NPI determines whether that product can succeed in the real world. My role is to maintain the connection between the two.

My approach

Five leadership disciplines that connect NPD and NPI.

Each stage addresses a point where promising products commonly lose alignment, momentum, or value.

01

Identify the right opportunity

Understand the customer, market potential, strategic fit, and source of value before committing to a solution.

I help teams focus investment on opportunities that are meaningful to customers and relevant to the business.

02

Connect opportunity to feasibility

Translate customer and business needs into product requirements while evaluating technology, operations, investment, and organizational capabilities.

I create shared understanding between commercial, product, technical, and operational teams before critical decisions become expensive to reverse.

03

Develop and validate the complete proposition

Develop the product and its value proposition together, testing technical performance, usability, customer response, critical assumptions, and proof points.

I reduce risk by identifying what must be true for the product to succeed and building evidence before the organization scales.

04

Prepare the organization and the market

Align development, manufacturing, technology, operations, sales, service, training, positioning, channels, and partners around one coherent introduction.

I expose readiness gaps and connect the work required to prepare both the company and the customer.

05

Launch, learn, and improve

Measure adoption, customer behavior, operational performance, and business results, then apply those insights to the roadmap and product lifecycle.

I keep teams accountable beyond delivery and turn launch performance into better product decisions.

Grounded in experience

A product career built across the complete lifecycle.

This approach is grounded in hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle: designing and testing industrial products, developing a new medical-market opportunity for an industrial chemical, managing global portfolios and commercializing new lighting technologies, shaping and validating healthcare positioning, preparing the organization and market for two major product introductions each year, and implementing enterprise digital and AI-enabled products.

That breadth gives me a practical understanding of where promising products can break down, when customer value is assumed, technical feasibility is disconnected from business viability, or launch readiness begins too late. I help teams surface those gaps early and maintain alignment from opportunity through market adoption and continued improvement.

The through line

Build the right product. Prepare it to succeed.
